Lamphey Show Fundraising – Pledge Request

Featured

As many of you already know, Lamphey Show, which takes place on Wednesday 7th August 2024, is the main fundraiser for the 4th Pembroke (Lamphey) Scout Group, and we encourage EVERYONE to get involved in some way.  Every year the group runs a successful stall selling homemade cakes (they sell better than store bought), tea, coffee etc.   The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts also help the parents and leaders to run the stall.

As we did last year, we are asking that all parents/guardians/family members pledge their support in some small way, setting up the tents (5PM on Tuesday), baking cakes, washing up, serving in the stall (between 10am and 5pm but especially 11:30-3pm as busy period), taking the tent down etc.  If you happen to be away on holiday, or working and can’t do anything on the day, perhaps encourage a grandparent or family member to supply a homemade sponge cake, fruit cake, cupcakes etc.   Cakes can be dropped off on Tuesday at Nicola’s (54 St Michaels Road Pembroke) or Pat’s (10 Cleggar Park, Lamphey) if you can’t make it down to the Showground.

NOTE: If baking, you MUST supply the list of ingredients as we have to display for allergy reasons.  We especially need both Savoury and Sweet Scones for the Cream Teas, and ready made Welshcake mixture.

Please, please, please spare us 5 minutes to follow the link below and reply using the online form to let us know how you can help.  If you have any issues with the form, you can just email iainomnet@gmail.com or patparkhurst2@gmail.com

COOP Community Fund – Please sign up.

The Group has been successful in being selected as one of the local community groups to be supported through the Coop Community Fund for the next year from today.

What does this mean ?

Anyone shopping at the Coop in Pembroke Main St can choose to support the Group by logging in to the website, signing up as a member (if not already a member), and selecting 4th Pembroke (Lamphey) Scout Group as the community project they want to support.  This means that every time they shop and use their loyalty card, 1% of their spend on Coop branded goods is donated by the Coop to the Group.

What should we do ?

  • If you don’t have a Coop loyalty card already, follow the link below, sign up , and select our Group as the Community Group you want to support.
  • If you already have a loyalty card and have registered on the website, just log in and select our Group.
  • Share this email with local family and friends and encourage them to do the same.

Will it cost me anything ?
No, this donation is funded by the Coop.  Any discounts you receive for being a member are not affected.

If you have any questions, please let me know.  Please, please, share this with as many people as you can in the area so we can raise as much money as possible for the Group.  All funds will go towards extra tents and cooking equipment for future camps.

Summer Term Starts Wednesday 15th April

Lamphey Scout Group Summer Term starts back on Wednesday 15th April at normal meeting times. The Leaders are hard at work putting together a full programme of activities and events, and you will start to see it being populated in My.Scout and on the Website.   Easter Bingo was a little quieter this year due to people being away on holiday, but it was great fun and managed to raise around £450 which will go towards this terms activities.  Many thanks to those who donated prizes and attended on the night!

Tenby Longcourse 2.4 mile Swim Fundraiser

All those who attended the AGM will be aware that Fay Omnet was swimming the 2.4 mile sea swim during the Tenby Longcourse Weekend to raise funds for the Scout Group.  The winner of the ‘Guess the Time’ sweepstake was Rhi Bruce who wins the £20 ‘The Room’ Voucher.  Fay’s time was a creditable 1 hour 8 mins (much faster than she expected).

Fay raised a grand total of £138!
