‘Balsam Bashing’ at Kingsmill Wood
Thanks to all the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Leaders and Parents who made it down to Kingmill Wood today for one of the Scout Community Week events. Everyone worked really hard searching for (and bashing) the Himalayan Balsam, avoiding the brambles and nettles where possible. I think everyone found it both fun and rewarding doing something worthwhile to protect the native plants from this invader. Also, a big thanks to 21C for organising and supplying the tea and coffee.
Anglers First Catch
The Scouts participating in the Anglers badge had their first outing today fishing in the Cleddau Estuary. Catch included a small flounder, an eel, crabs and lots of seaweed. Next week (21st) will be in Orielton. Please meet in the Speculation Inn car park at 6:55pm sharp – we will travel down to the pond together.

Scouts get creative with Pembrokeshire Woodturners
Over the last couple of months, the Scouts have all had a chance to spend the evening with Pembrokeshire Woodturners who gave them the opportunity to ‘turn’ their own piece of wood. The Scouts are very grateful to the Woodturners for giving up their time.

All Scouts are particularly encouraged to attend the parade on Sunday.
